Ride for CHANGE Ride for HOPE Foundation tapped to open IDOT Cycle Rider Regional Training Center

Ride for CHANGE Ride for HOPE™ Foundation was approved to manage the state-funded Illinois Department of Transportation Cycle Rider Training Program in the Northern Region servicing 14 counties with 12 training ranges, over 200 employees and contractors, an inventory of approximately 500 motorcycles and program service vehicles.

As part of the award, Ride for CHANGE Ride for HOPE™ Foundation has been designated by the Illinois Department of Transportation to organize a Regional Cycle Rider Safety Training Center.

Henceforth, the Ride for CHANGE Ride for HOPE™ Motorcycle Safety Program will manage cycle rider safety training courses for the northern Illinois region formerly operated by Harper College in Palatine.

The program provides instruction to safely operate a motorcycle through basic, advanced and 3-wheel training courses to over 6,500 riders annually.

Classes are planned to tentatively restart June 1, 2023 at 5 Chicagoland locations and gradually increase throughout the remainder of the year as more ranges are activated throughout the region.
